Our Process

Here’s how we approach house siding repair and siding installation.

Free Estimate and Design

We start with a detailed inspepection of your exisiting siding and a conversation about the look you want for your home. This includes determining which material of siding is best for you, creating a 3D model and design to help you choose the right look for your home and a comprehensive, detailed estimate for your project. Since Rocky Mountain Exteriors can do all exterior remodel trades, we offer a variety of project choices and finish options. Once the project scope is finalized, Rocky Mountain Exteriors will pull necessary building permits, order material, and finally schedule a date for your projects completion.

Remove Old Siding

This includes a full tear off of the area to be replaced. Once the area is torn off, we will inpsect sheathing, studs and other components and look for signs of rot. If rot does exist, we will replace necessary components. Once subsurface is sound a moisture barrier installed to protect your home from wind and water intrusion.

Taping, Water Sealing & New Siding Installation

Before the new siding goes on, vulnerable areas around windows, doors, seams and other penetrations are carefully taped and water-sealed. Our installation team then installs the new siding according to manufacture specifications and local building code creating a durable, exterior designed to stand up to Colorado’s weather. (Note: depending on your selection, your new siding will either come pre-finished in the color you selected or Rocky Mountain Exteriors will paint your siding on site)

New Trim & Finished Exterior

We complete the project by installing or replacing trim around windows, doors, corners and other architectural features. Once everything is finished, our field supervisor will complete a final quality and clean up check, schedule final inspections and complete a final walkthrough with the homeowner so we can address any last punch list items.

Building for Colorado’s Wildland-Urban Interface

Homes located in a Wildland-Urban Interface (WUI) area may be subject to additional building requirements designed to reduce the risk of wildfire damage. These requirements can affect siding, trim, soffits, vents, decks, and other exterior components, with an emphasis on ignition-resistant or noncombustible materials.

Siding Warranties

RME offers a 10-year labor warranty that covers everything except for acts of God related to the installation of the siding or trim. Different siding manufactures have different manufacture’s warranties for different products. An RME representative will be happy to answer any questions you might have about the different manufacture’s warranties at the time of the estimate.

The crew cleaned up better than any crew I've ever encountered and I am in CX and Real Estate program management. He honestly kept the project alive by meeting with the second and third adjusters. This is as close to hands off for a homeowner as you can be for a major job.
