We were impressed by the staff’s attempts to provide service for our high maintenance dog when he was neutered. Because he has some not nice behaviors they showered him with treats and love during a “happy” visit for the sole purpose to help him become more comfortable at the vet. Our family appreciates all they have done and would highly recommend this business.

The team there is awesome, I had two big German shepherds and they handled them very well. I will be returning here for any of my dog related issues… Thank you guys so much for taking care of my family my shepherds..

The staff at CityVet are the kindest, most compassionate people. When my furbaby needed lifesaving surgery, they made miracles happen, and got a surgeon with no availability in the next day. Every visit is one of compassion and care for both me and my cat. You never feel that they are just tacking on additional procedures, but instead everything from the perspective of what is best for your baby. Cannot recommend them highly enough!

These people really care about pets. Dr. Charles Dickens is a very very amazing veterinarian and just a great overall person. It is a always a breath of fresh air when he is our vet for the day. Would absolutely recommend Dr. Dickens and City vet capital hill!!

We started coming here when we moved to Denver. The vets were so nice and the timeliness was on point. Recently, we started getting a lot of problems. I don’t know if it’s pandemic related, but the customer service, provider communication and availability has gotten tough. We ended up wanted to find another vet after our last visit with them. They did very good in the beginning, I was sad to see the service slip.

I recently adopted a kitten from MaxFund and was excited to hear I’ll have a free exam at the clinic across the street. I made my appointment and headed to the clinic.
When I got to the clinic, I noticed the receptionist at the front desk being quite rude to an elderly woman who was clearly confused, and it didn’t make me feel good. My cat and I were brought back fairly quickly thereafter. The MA took all the necessary info about my cat and documented his health history. I expressed concerns about my cat’s illness. She left and after waiting for a bit came back to tell me that my voucher for a free exam had expired by a week. I politely asked if the doctor if she could take a look at my kitten because he was sick. I was met with a refusal of service without exception. The doctor refused to answer any of my questions and told me to talk to the shelter where I adopted my cat.
The interaction didn’t feel good and the doctor was rude and dismissive. Unfortunately, it seemed like she was incredibly stressed out and overworked. She didn’t have any people skills at all, or didn’t care to use them with me.
Since my cat was due for a vaccine, they agreed to administer, but when the doctor came in, they were rough with him and again refused to answer any questions I had about my sick cat. She grabbed his face, shoved the skin back, and said “you look pretty good!”. I guess this was the free exam I got instead.
I have sympathy for businesses that serve the community and may not have the resources to provide adequate care and attention to customers, and for a vet, their pets. But when a clinic isn’t ran well, it comes down on the customer. I won’t be going here again.

The Dr. Cox is great. The reason I gave them 1 star it’s the staff. So if or when you are able to get a appointment with the Vet. Things are good. For example the lady came on line said let put you on a brief hold. The question is how much time is a brief hold??? I can tell you this!!
I have been on a brief hold for 39 minutes and counting. After an hour and 30 minutes they hung up.

I’ll start by saying I never leave reviews, but my experience with MaxFund Wellness Center was exceptionally terrible. The older male vet who’s name I don’t remember was horrible. I’ve never been to a veterinarian who does not explain the procedures they expect to perform. He left the room before I had a chance to ask questions and was almost offended that I asked the tech to have him come back in because I had questions she could not answer.
After speaking with him, he invited me up front to check out and stated they would call me with the results of my dog’s blood work…I was confused because they hadn’t even done a blood sample. The tech came back in for a blood sample and I expressed I wasn’t comfortable having this vet care for my dog. She tried to connect me with the manager and reschedule with another vet (she expressed she personally would be more comfortable with the other veterinarian working on her own animals over the veterinarian I saw). She then came out apologetically to say the manager did not have time to speak with me. They did waive the examination fee which I appreciate, however I would not recommend this place to anyone who cares for their animal as if they were family – terrible bedside manner. At the very least request to see the female veterinarian. I believe the tech said her name was Dr. Cox.

I’ve taken my rescue here since I brought him home in January 2019. Zeus is actually happy to see Dr Jeanne and Dr Hunter! The ladies at the front desk are equally happy to see Zeus. They have always found time for Zeus in an emergency and provide great on-the-spot advice if I can’t bring him in that day. The advice and treatment given are reliable, but, most important, everyone is so kind and they care about Zeus as much as I do. I do not even live nearby any longer and I still bring him to The Center for Animal Wellness.

The Center is top notch in every way. When my former cat Rufus was dying, they did everything to keep him comfortable, and when it was time to let go, they came to my house – in a snowstorm – to end his life on my lap, where he was calmest.
They are now treating my current cat Samson, who has a couple chronic conditions, with timely, excellent care. Through the pandemic, when we had acute situations, they were always available, and in fact, saved his life with the best combination of treatments.
Doctors and techs alike are communicative and responsive, in addition to being highly professional and knowledgeable.

Kind and professional. Even with Covid restrictions they make the process friendly and communicative. My dog was comfortable going into their vet office both times we’ve been there. They were also able to get us in pretty quickly for establishing a vet and for vaccine follow ups.

I’ve interacted with multiple Banfield locations and this is without a doubt the best location in the Denver area. The entire staff, from front desk, to techs, to the vet team… Are all wonderful and carrying people that actually want to care for your pet. We’ve had nothing but great experiences.

to begin, I have never done a Google review. My interaction was just so horrid that I feel compelled to share with others so that hopefully they can stay away and it wont happen to them as well.
I have been going to Banfield in Seattle for 4 years, it had been a really great experience. However, my review is strictly for this location in Capitol Hill. First off, my cat’s diet has recently changed and he no longer wants to eat his dry food which is very weird for him.
My first interaction at this location was with the tech. She was completely dismissive of my concerns and said “it’s probably because he just randomly became picky, so if you just leave the food out, he’ll eat when he gets hungry, even if that’s in 4 days or so”. Excuse me?? As a nurse for humans, change in diet is very concerning. Plus if you go in, already with preconceived notions about what’s going on, you aren’t going to be doing your absolute best to help out and get to the root of the problem.
20 minutes later I get a call from Dr. Jacobs saying that his kidney lab levels are elevated but he’s just so aggressive that they are unwilling to investigate further. I was in complete shock at this. 1 if there’s something wrong with his kidney’s that’s extremely important to get more information on. 2, I have never ever heard about him being aggressive or mean to anyone. I have brought him to different friends place, take him on walks, leave him at family or friends homes when I am out of town, I have never had a problem. If he is hissing though, this is a vet and they should be able to complete cares on him. That is what they do. Clearly, there is something wrong with how they were trying to care for him.
Not only was my interaction with the tech bad and dismissive, it was the same when speaking with Dr. Jacobs. She was completely dismissive, condescending and short when answering our questions and concerns. It was the absolute worst experience I have ever had with a vet. She didn’t even seem to have compassion or care about what was going on.
When picking him up, they were so concerned about his “aggression” that I was required to walk into the back and get him out of the crate myself. Again, I’ve been going to the Seattle Banfield twice a year for 4 years, this has NEVER happened to me. As soon as I got into the room, I opened his door, yes he was anxious, but with a treat in hand he was totally receptive. He even hopped out of the crate and was curiously wondering the room while I was talking to a different tech about discharge items. You would think they should be the specialists in caring for pets, even pets that are anxious. As a nurse I have a ton of tricks up my sleeve when handling “difficult” patients, but you are always able to get your cares done. So I have no idea what they were actually doing to him, because it clearly was mishandled and inappropriate.
I will never be taking him to the Capitol Hill Banfield again, I would recommend no one ever go there or see Dr. Jacobs ever again too. It was such a bad experience I am debating canceling my wellness plan with them because of it.

My new puppy contracted Parvo and I was fortunate to get a referral. Unfortunately money was sparse and these generous people were able to assist me. Not only with the finances but also my puppy. Dr. Gordon and the lead technician Lara were amazing. I will be back!

I love this vet clinic! No only is it centrally located and close to my house but it is full of caring, qualified people running it. Any questions, comments, concerns were met with urgency and compassion. Plus it’s affordable! Very highly recommended!

THRIVE takes such great care of our pets. I feel safe leaving my cat there for vet visits because I know how much they care about the animals. They also made the experience of having our senior kitty put down less horrible. They were so kind throughout the whole process, and really made us want to use this vet for all of our animals for years to come. We love having such a great vet in our neighborhood.

Dr Novara is the only vet I’ll bring my pets to! She cares for them as though they were her own and they are always so happy to see her. I can’t recommend her enough. 5 stars!!!

First of all, I have a very temperamental cat (maybe they all are?!?). Dr.Novara really put both of us at ease with her demeanor and her hilarious stories about her own cats. I could tell she had a great understanding of where I was coming from and how special my cat is to me. If you’re looking for a great, honest vet who will make both you and your furry family member feel at ease, book with her!
