The Jury Duty process here takes about twice as long or more than other states. The clerks move without haste, the judge tries making punchlines with each phase of the process and the building is large yet has little use for its size. Altogether a dreadful experience.

I believe the people that were there today we prejudice against me for not knowing how to fill out paperwork . Because of that I was denied a fee wave for my court orders I could not pay for. My child father refused to bring our daughter to our drop off so I tried to file a contempt of court as his done many times and never get a section. This time I filed and was denied because I did not fill out the paperwork to the judges liking so for this my daughter father gets to keep her until I can take another day off work to go re file . Thank to the women who showed me what I was doing wrong. Shame on all the women in the files room who said they didn’t know what to tell me. On top of that the women who I filed the modified odreds I need to revise our case did not stamp them so nothing was filed.

The Denver City Council is the legislative branch of government for the City and County of Denver, Colorado. The council is made up of thirteen elected officials from eleven City and county designated districts and two at-large elected members. Although the offices are officially non-partisan, the members are allowed to be affiliated with a political party. Most commonly in Denver history, members are almost always members of the Democratic Party, making a virtual monopoly on city politics favoring the party. Elections for all members are held every four years, the next being in 2023. The council elects a president to serve as a leader annually.

Loved when they decided to change their computer system during a federal emergency! Loved it when they made mandatory Id verification through one company I’d me, and loved it when they stopped paying to make everyone re-file, loved it when the never bothered to pay the extra $300 per week assistance from the Federal Government. Lived it when they quit taking phone calls, when they stopped office visits without an appointment, But over all I am certainly glad that our country has unemployment insurance because that money helped me. I just wish I could have received the extra $300 per week for the majority of my claim.

I think the reviews generally track how fast you got your check, and therefore skew negative since the overwhelming majority of satisfied people aren’t posting. I get it…. we went from record low unemployment to record high unemployment overnight, and without warning. They were not staffed up, and their computers are from the 1800s (blame the voters who’ll never vote for anyone who promises to spend more money on something like this). Add in high tech fraudsters trying to appropriate our identities and successfully stealing millions, and thousands of people who justly qualify for unemployment that have never paid into it and therefore have to create paper trails from scratch. And did I mention that they’re woefully understaffed? The few folks I’ve spoken with were pretty helpful, but the site (old and new), as well as the directions are woefully unclear. They’re phone system still has a message talking about 2019 taxes or something. Seriously? That type of quality control starts at the top and is simply inexcusable. The staff, however, are pretty good considering what they’re dealing with. That said, mandatory overtime would have been appropriate in this situation.

My claim has had issues since DECEMBER 2020. I keep being told that it is a technical issue. The last representative I spoke with said it was the federal government’s issue because they control the new system. She also stated that the IT team responsible for fixing this issue has not acknowledged that they even received this escalated request And… they were not returning any of their messages. I asked if she or a supervisor could reach out to this team personally as this issue has been ongoing since December. The representative said they did not have access to contact them directly. She stated they only were able to contact the IT team by sending them messages, that they did not return. I stated that there had to be someone in their office or chain of command that could contact them directly. I was told there was no one who had access to do this. I requested to speak to a supervisor as this issue clearly warranted some type of escalation. I was told “This issue is bigger than you or me. This is government and it just doesn’t work that way. There is no one else you can talk to but me. You just have to keep calling every two weeks to see if there is any progress” I stated that I had been calling every two weeks since December and nothing has happened. I was told pretty rudely that “Ma’am there’s nothing else I can do for you and I have to help other people”. She then proceeded to go silent as if she hung up and would no longer answer my questions. During our conversation she mentioned that I absolutely qualified and she could see the money sitting out there but because of a technical issue, I couldn’t complete the filing of my claim. I said that sounds crazy that I qualify but can’t receive the money. It is as if, you all really just don’t want to pay out! I would like to hear from someone who can actually contact this technical team to determine where my claim is on their issue list. Claim number – 10127358

I’ve been living in Colorado my whole life and this place is filled with plenty biases, racists, and stereotypical people proud to fulfill the stereotype expectation Mayor Hancock will NEVER be LEGENDARY unlike Mayor Wellington Webb! Hancock is too cowardly to EVER be like Mayor Webb an honorable Mayor! Rev Leon Kelly is garbage too! I’ve curbed more gang violence than he could ever have!

The entire Denver Metro area is infested with a spirit of true greed and is drowning in it’s own malice. The area thrives economically at the cost of the local’s physical and mental health. The cost of living is so high that one cannot afford to work only 40 hours a week and/or live alone. The rent rates are evil and an absolute sin regardless of what religion you follow.

Does the local government offer any relief? Do they try push for any legislation that may restore the balance? Would it not be easy to mandate a restriction on rental prices? Couldn’t they at least require a pay rate proportional to the cost of living?

No empire should be built on the backs of slaves. However, that is pretty much what the Denver Metro area is doing. The people here must work so hard and for so long that they don’t often have time to live. They are slaves to their ever increasingly high costs. A situation that has made most of them bitter, angry, stressed and spiteful.

Thomas Paine once wrote, “It’s only common sense. If a government won’t give you your basic rights, you’d better get another government.” Not just pretty words. The local government has stood by, idle, as it’s citizens toil away in a vain attempt to hold onto what little they have. In short they have allowed greed to remove people’s right to “live”. People should work to live not live to work.

It is abundantly clear that niether the mayors, city council, nor chambers of commerce of the area honestly give a damn about the lives of their citizens or about what the long term effects such a situation will inevitably cause. They only care about the money that they can make right now and all of them should be made to step down.

Edit: As sad as it is, I fear that the previously aforementioned “long term effects” have begun to take root. In the past month I have helped a family of four that was short only three dollars to be able to split a single meal between them, consoled a recent mother that will not be celebrating the holidays due to having to pay such high rent and bill prices, and stopped a teenager who thought that stealing was the only path he could take to get by.

This is what the Denver area is doing to people. This is a situation that will only get worse if left unchecked and I weep at what this area is to become if something isn’t done soon.

You need to go with the tour where you will learn few things about Colorado. The best part of tour is going up the base of dome and able to walk around veranda (balcony). View from that spot in amazing. I’ve been to other state Capitol tour and did not have access like this.

We missed the last tour of the day so just walked around on our own. It’s a beautiful building but would have been better to catch the tour and know what we were looking at. The dome was closed so we couldn’t go up and see it, but we did see the attic with some history and facts of Colorado. If you’re in the Capitol Hill area it’s worth checking out, especially if you can grab the tour. We did catch a part of the tour and were able to listen in about the House and what happens there. We stayed about 45min
