Don’t usually take the time to leave reviews for hospitals but came into the ER today and had the best set of nurses and doctors. Dr. Englen was incredibly helpful and understanding. She genuinely heard out my concerns and did what she could to assess what was going on with me, as well as everyone else there and they took great care of me & made me feel comfortable. Will definitely be coming back in the event of an emergency if I need to.

I’ve have been chronically ill since I was 8, over 50 years. I cannot remember a time when I received better care than at DH. My GP is wonderful, and all the specialists have been top notch.

The nurses deserve their own paragraph. Kind, concerned, friendly…dare I say loving?

People were friendly and the process was orderly, smooth, and very fast. I was in line for less than 20 seconds and was seated and had my shots (both times) in less than 3 minutes. I waited in the waiting area for 15 minutes (where the chairs are adequately spaced apart) and then left. It was an incredibly easy process to get fully vaccinated (with Pfizer vaccine)!

I tried for quite a few months to dispute the $95 I was supposed to owe. Every year I go to PP to renew my BC prescription. It has always been completely covered by insurance, with every medical plan I’ve ever had. This past year because of COVID, I chose telehealth to renew my prescription. A few weeks later, I got a bill. It’s also impossible to reach the office you are trying to get in contact with to dispute a bill. I finally got in contact with them and the woman at the office said that because it was telehealth, it was not coded as preventative. No one told me this and I told her I’m disputing it. It should have been covered since I was not comfortable going into the office due to COVID and it was a routine BC annual renewal. The dispute was still being reviewed (taking way more than 30 days) and since I couldn’t get a hold of anyone else again, I just ended up paying it. PP, if a patient chooses telehealth for a typical preventative service, you need to tell them it will not be covered by insurance.

So I must say that this Planned Parenthood location was by far one of the best Doctor’s office I have ever been to. They were able to take care of my needs with the upmost respect and understanding I believe I have ever encountered. Their staff was friendly and knowledgeable. They were able to handle everything I needed all the way to changing my gender marker on my driver’s license. They have their appointments scheduled and their lobby set up to meet today’s standards for social distancing. I never saw too many people on the lobby as they did most of their check in procedure over the phone while you say in your car. I would recommend this planned parenthood location to anyone seeking the services they perform.

Came into the ER with a fully broken Left Clavical (Collar Bone) and was left in a room by myself for 3 hours with the most excruciating pain I have ever felt in my life. When I was eventually seen the staff did not believe what I was saying and they did not even examine me to notice the HUGE bulge on my shoulder from the brake. They were about to discharge me with no care at all until I finally insisted them to run this XRAY. I have never been so baffled by a neglect for someone who is suffering.

This could not have been a more miserable experience. After being sent from Urgent care for tachycardia, low oxygen and pneumonia, the PA was concerned I could become septic and they informed me I was too sick to be seen and said I need in patient treatment/should be admitted. To avoid a $800+ ambulance bill which they wanted me to do, I had my partner drive me. I arrived to Denver Health ER and let them know I was referred for pneumonia. After an hour of waiting it was so freezing I had to go outside to wait, only to come in two times to check. Eventually my partner brought warmer clothes even though I was in jeans and it’s a 95 degree day. After two and a half hours I came back inside only to wait another hour and a half. By this point my fever was very elevated- just got home to check and it was 103.1 (this is my 4th consecutive day with a fever that high) and my pulse was 119. Finally after more than four hours of not being seen and feeling that sick I had to leave. Unless you’re coming in on a stretcher, go somewhere else for an emergency.

Suddenly feeling unsafe in your own body can in itself be a traumatic experience. Medical staff can make a world of difference in alleviating or amplifying a very scary situation. Do you feel heard? Do you feel you are surrounded by compassionate and experienced individuals? Do you feel you are safe in your environment? Do you feel the people around you have your best interest at heart when you are at your most vulnerable?

On June 23rd, with Denver Health Urgent Care, I can say unequivocally – Yes. Very much so!

However, on the exact same day just a few hours later across the street with Denver Health Emergency I can say without hesitation – No.

My contrasting experiences are reflected on record and in their own reporting; one accurate and the other one partially inaccurate and incomplete which unfortunately led the attending doctor at the time of my release to prescribe a medicine completely unrelated to my symptoms and health issues. Looking through the long line of one star reviews it seems as if this lack of care and attention to detail is routine for Denver Health Emergency. What’s the point of contacting Patient Advocate Services if this is an uninterrupted track record spanning back years?

My room was also dirty, packaging on the floor, and opened/unopened medical utensils scattered on countertops.

(Edit/Addition): I think it’s also important to mention that no one went over my test results with me before I was discharged. Considering I was sent to the ER by Urgent Care for an elevated d-dimer (indicative of a potential blood clot in the lung), chest tightening, difficulty breathing, back pain, arm pain/stiffness. As I’m reviewing the Dr.’s notes and test result notes more closely (on my own at home) there are some scary mentions that it would have been reassuring to have had a Doctor that was willing to discuss these findings with me before discharging me. Unfortunately, now I have to wait with these unalleviated symptoms, until my PCP has an opening to discuss and treat.

I left in tears and filled with more pain, anxiety, and frustration than when I arrived. If they can’t handle the small things there is no reason for me to feel confident in their ability to effectively diagnose and treat the big things. I take no pleasure in writing a poor review. This is my first one. But, considering it’s a matter of health and safety I feel I have a responsibility to speak up and share my experience.

I came here for prenatal care with my first baby. Marie Schnell is my doctor & she’s incredible. She’s handled every concern with attention & care. I felt safe discussing my fears with pregnancy & birth with her & honestly she cleared up a ton of misconceptions I had. I felt less anxious because of her! My insurance went through no problem & they handle a lot of my questions over the phone so during covid I almost never had to come in besides my routine checkups. Bilingual staff, & great location with on site free parking garages right by the clinic. All the care I needed from prenatal, emergency, to birth & post natal in one building. I highly recommend them to first time moms like me.

My friend is a patient here and had a horrible experience with Dr.Pedro Miranda. She speaks primarily Spanish and an interpreter was arranged for her however at the time of her procedure he hung up on the interpreter and stated that he spoke Spanish so he didn’t need them. This would have been fine except he didn’t communicate with her hardly at all and never once explained the procedure which was scary enough for her without knowing what was going on. They were doing a intimate procedure in which a medical tool is inserted and he never gave her warning or communication when inserting or removing these tools. She felt like she was not cared about and no communication was given even after the procedure was conpleted.I’m a nurse myself and just hearing about her experience was so heartbreaking. Someone needs to address him on his bedtime manner and how inappropriate it is to remove a pts line of communication. …Kudos to…Marie Schnell midwife who has taken care of her before and was amazing at communication and was super pleasant. Whenever any concerns were voiced she took care of them quickly and resolved them…. Amber RN super kind and helped my friend to the bathroom in a dignified manner

Staff was nice, but I have severe anxiety and when it was the near the end of my appointment I was unaware of whether I could leave or not. Doctor just said okay thanks and shut the door behind them. I didn’t know if I was supposed to wait for someone or if I could just leave, i also didn’t know my way out. I sat in the room for 10 minutes before panicking and left crying.

This was hands down the best urgent care I’ve ever visited. I felt well taken care of. My nurse, Grant, was amazing. He was kind, very thorough, and always took the time to check in on me and explained everything that was happening. I left feeling better and had a lot of peace of mind.

First experience at Adult Urgent Care, and it was the best experience ever! The PA/RN gave me the best care! Everything was explained so I understood. All the pressure they are currently experiencing, and they were still thoughtful, gorgeous, and kind. Restored my faith! Thank you!!!

This was the best urgent care experience I’ve ever had. We brought my girlfriend in for extreme eye pain and light sensitivity and from the moment we walked in, they were dimming lights for her, asking if she needed anything, really showed they cared and it appeared sincere. We were there about two hours, maybe two and half, which sucks but the majority of that time was actually being seen by a PA or a nurse. They diagnosed her with a corneal abrasion and gave her all the information she needed. It was a deeper abrasion so they recommended having the opthemologist check it out but he had left to go to the ER from the eye clinic in the outpatient building so we were sent there. The ER was awful, but these folks at the Adult Urgent Care Facility were absolutely magnificent. 100% recommend. Just don’t go to the ER at Denver Health if they try to send you there. You’ll be there another 4-6 hours and they’re awful.
