Definitely like the new look. Staff was great in assisting and answering any questions that I had. Rooms were comfy. Love the fact that the Yard House is attached to the hotel. Smart idea combing the coffee bar with a liquor bar. Wish I had the chance to check it out while I was there. Overall, great job! Looking forward to coming back next year.

It’s a hotel like many hotels but bigger, probably the biggest hotel i went to, more fancy, with a rooftop pool and many more extra things like the location, i think it’s the perfect location.
Pro tip: if your an early bird and have a car and don’t want to spend $40 for self park or $50 with valet .. just park your car outside for the night for free from 8 or 9 pm (i don’t remember) to 8am! Just be aware of the parking signs and where to park.

Stayed here during a major snow storm March 2021 and had a really great stay despite the circumstances. We were forced to extend our stay dud to the weather and the hotel honored the rate. The rooms were super clean the staff was very courteous. Had an overall pleasant stay and will definitely come back! The hotel is HUGE and beautiful.

This hotel is awesome! The food was all delicious and the service is great. The room was clean, with no problems with any bugs or anything. All the outlets worked and anything else in the room. Assisted everywhere and provided all the necessary quality care. I would love to return there for another stay. Overall it was an excellent stay! Thank you!

I was torn between 3 and 4 stars. I agree with an earlier review. This is not a 3-star hotel. It’s more like a motel with surface updates and a great location.
Pros: Great location and attentive staff. Our initial room was not cleaned properly and the team QUICKLY changed our room. Every team member I encountered from the front desk to the pool to the bar was sweet and friendly.
Cons: The renovation cut corners. The rooms smelled like old smoke. On our first night the hot water did not work. A staff member fixed our issue, but the water pressure was still super low. There are scratches and damage to the furniture.
We decided to just put up with it, because we only stayed for two nights and spent very little time in the room. It was also a last-minute trip and this was the cheapest hotel in the area.
If you are looking to spend a romantic weekend mostly indoors then this is NOT it.

I rarely ever write reviews, but I want to say that Andrew who was working at the front desk was amazing! He really made the experience so lovely and easy! Definitely amazing being greeted with such positivity, humor and quick service. Not to mention the rooms are clean and beautiful. I will definitely be booking at Sonesta again

PROS: Excellent service from all of the staff! They were all friendly, accessible and attentive. Nice entrance and hotel ambiance as well as amenities. We loved the location of the hotel because it was walking distance to lots of great retail and restaurant options.
CONS: When we arrived to our room, we quickly noticed the duvet was dirty and we requested a new one, which they brought us right away. Bed was too firm, the pillows didn’t offer any support and I was hot in the room each night because there was no ceiling fan. Turning down the AC did not help much. There was also an alarm clock beside the bed that was VERY bright and could NOT be unplugged or turned off which made it hard to sleep. Needless to say, I did not sleep well during my whole stay. The bathroom did not have an exhaust fan either which was odd. The TV also seemed very old and cheap. My 6-7 year old, cheapest TV at home is way nicer than the one we had in our room, which was disappointing. The picture quality was poor and so was the audio quality (it was noticeable immediately).
If the price was lower here, I would have given my stay 4 stars despite the shortcomings. But when paying for a 4 star hotel from this well known brand, I expected far less negatives and to have a more luxurious stay. Overall, we were satisfied, but if we were to travel to Denver again, we will probably try a different hotel next time.

Lovely hotel in the heart of downtown
The rooms are spacious and clean. Staff is friendly and the hotel has all amenities like gym, restaurants, bar, coffee shop etc.
Plenty of eating destinations around the hotel. Do consider this hotel for sure if you want to stay in this area

It’s a beautiful Nostalgic hotel built in 1892. I’m here and the Christmas Decor has been put out and its beautiful! My room is clean and beautiful.. I asked for a room with a bathtub and it has a beautiful marble bathroom with large bathtub. I highly recommend when staying in Denver..very close to good shopping too.

Outstanding as always! Enjoyed a fabulous glass of wine in the Ship’s Tavern this afternoon. Superb service provided by Miss Hunter who was delightful. Live in Littleton and decided to spend this lovely day downtown. First visit/stay to his amazing place was as a child of 5. We flew from the East coast to Denver for my father’s business. I won’t tell you how “young” i am, just suffice it to say that this Gem of Denver hasn’t changed a bit. Please continue to keep the “ship” afloat.

Overall, The Brown Palace has a great location and very comfortable rooms. However, as a 4 start hotel, we expected a bit more. Our room had stains on the carpet and a TV that would randomly not work. The bathroom was spacious but lacked some of the luxuries you expect from higher star hotels such as robes. These are small things but they often make the experience different from booking a random 2 star hotel.
Regardless, we enjoyed our 2 nights with our pups in the comfy beds but don’t think we would return again unless there were some improvements in their service and standards.

This place is nice and I had a good stay although there was definitely some shortcomings.
The positives are
+ really good and free breakfast
+ incredibly comfortable beds/sheets/pillows
+ above average fitness center
The negatives are
– shower was dirty and not stocked
– A/C was broken
– maintenance request for A/C was ignored
– ice machine was broken
– several outlets don’t work
Overall I’d recommend this place to other people and would consider staying here again myself. Hopefully the maintenance gets better.

Overall happy with the hotel. Room was clean. Had a corner room so the view was nice with a wrap around window. Free continental breakfast was fine and had lots of options. Easily within walking distance of several downtown restaurants and stores. Our only issue during this stay was with the shower drain not working which made it very difficult to shower during our stay. The shower would fill up and almost overflow within 2~3 minutes of starting the water. Then it would take 30~45 minutes to drain. This was tough with 2 of us in the room. Took multiple calls and visits to the front desk over a couple of days to get someone up to look at it and afterwards it worked better but still backed up quickly. Otherwise, good hotel in a good location. Will update star rating to 5 if I stay again without any drain issues.

Good location.
Clean rooms
We like Holiday inn Express. We have found them quite comfortable so we had no reservation about staying at the one in Downtown Denver.
But…
One of our lamps in our room does not work. I plugged my phone into the bathroom outlet thinking that would be good overnight , only 4% charged on my phone by morning. The ice machine doesn’t work on our floor. The emergency phone by the elevator is hanging off on its side.
Our room leaves a lot to be desired. I’ve been in RV’s with a larger bedroom area and you have to leave the bathroom to change your mind – it’s so tiny. My toothbrush is just a few inches short from going from front of the sink to the back.
For the money I think it’s very sad

I’ll start here by saying that I’ve always enjoyed my stays here. A few of the other reviewers don’t seem to understand the concept of a hostel, and what traveling on a budget is.
One reviewer ranted that a bunk mate was messy. Rather than report it to staff, he judges the whole place on another guest. Would he rather bedrooms be monitored by 24 hour camera? (Obvious not, but a little communications goes a long way.)
One reviewer thought they could ignore the out of town guest only policy. This is a hostel though. (It’s in the name.) Similar policies aren’t just common in other hostels, they’re the norm.
Look, I’ve stayed here in 2010 and 2011 too. Even then, when there were problems that were fixed by the out of town only rule, the 11th Avenue was a budget tourist gold mine. The location is better than any of the fanciest 5 star hotels in Denver. The price, even for the private rooms, are unbeatable for what the hostel is. (It’s not a rooming house or an “hourly” motel, it’s a nice place.)
I see they’re closed for renovations now. I worry the prices will raise significantly upon reopening; hopefully it would be out of reach. Either way, this place served me well in my travels over the years. I thank them for that.

Lovely place: colorful, clean, far more interesting than a chain hotel. Real clawfoot tubs, windows that open, and architecture you can’t find elsewhere. The building is 117 yrs old, solid, and being modernized (ongoing construction) w/out losing any of what makes it interesting.
On the flip, the TV options could use an upgrade and water pressure is a bit low. But neither of these things was substantive enough for me to give less than 5 stars.

This place is no thrills. The thrill there was a bed, the better thrill checking out. With a world reknown hostel around the block ( Ember), this place has seriously work to do. Also, they are doing a huge renovation, while hosting people during Covid-19.. that doesn’t make sense. This place is also more of a lounge place for homeless & transitioning people than a true backpackers hostel. The staff at check in where nice though.

Great staff, comfortable suites. I just could not regulate temperatures in bedroom versus thermostat in other room. Quiet on top floor but could still hear door closings at 2am. Positive is its closest to the convention center is a plus. They need shuttle to rail central station for rides to airport. Rail and bus metro stations are nearby. Although they don’t have their own restaurant for room service they are Close to many restaurants. Social club is on first floor. Breakfast and Manager reception is good.

This place is incredible. The inside is spacious and family friendly. The streets outside are Denver at night so you’ve got your small wondering homeless population but there’s a bar and a strip club close by for our adults of 18+. They’re both great with good service and crowds. But the inside the service is definitely 5 star.

Very disappointed
The hotel is very nice and clean. People are nice. However when booking one of the deciding factors was an on-site restaurant and bar as we would be meeting family and friends and needed a place to eat and have cocktails. The first night here we were Surprised to find closed when asked we were told that the staff was catering a private banquet on another floor and therefore the restaurant and bar were closed. However they told us that tonight 7/17 the next evening both restaurant abs bar would be open. So my family arrived and we went to the bar and nothing. Restaurant and bar both deserted. Never opened tonight either.
They say tomorrow but I don’t believe them. Had I koan this I would have booked a room elsewhere. Had they told me the truth last night about being open tonight instead of lying to me I would have been able to make plans elsewhere instead we scramble.
Nice hotel don’t recommend if you want dining and drinks in your hotel.

Also, park in the public ramp across the driveway, I want to say it is like $8/day.

Hotel is fine. Beware of the parking advice the front desk will give you. You will be told that the lot across the street is $15 per day, but you need to know this means you must go pay again by 6:00 a.m. or risk getting a ticket. You cannot book multiple days at once. You will not be told there are not in-and-out privileges until after you have paid for your first day of parking and receive the receipt.

Overall very good stay. Clean, comfortable rooms. Very friendly and helpful staff. Keep in mind no housekeeping during one’s stay because of covid unless especially requested. So you’ll have to request more TP and toiletries, clean towels, if needed while there. We did not have a car, but the valet system seemed very popular with other guests. Breakfast was okay–bagels, toast, some cereal options, milk, juice, oatmeal and apples. Plentiful coffee served all day in the lobby. Pool was not functional while we were there. Gym looked fine, though we did not use because of the small space, other guests using. Laundry machines fine. Good place to stay within walking distance to so much in Denver’s downtown. Thumbs up.

Location is great, you are downtown and near the capitol so you can walk/bike/scooter to nearby bars and restaurants. The rooms feature balconies which are super nice, you can see the city really well. The only note I have is that the suite we stayed in had a lot of playboy-styled decor. Fine for us as a couple, but it might be nice to know for those who are not on a romantic trip.

Hair in the bathtub, some of the employees don’t know where the gym is so I spent 20 minutes looking for it before someone else came and told me where to find it. Other than that the hotel itself is nice, good view from the balcony. I just think staff needs to be trained better

Our suite was run down. The tile in bathroom is water stained in need of new grout and fresh caulk around the tub. The tub drained very slowly and you had to stand in 2 inches of water when you shower. The room had scuff marks on every wall and needed a fresh coat of paint. There is a threatening sign on the desk saying there would be a $1000 fee for evidence of smoking. However the balcony outside was full of evidence of cigarette ashes as well as marijuana leftovers. There was an urban retreat fee that was added after check out and was never explained. Whenever I walked in the hotel was never anyone standing at the front desk. When i tried calling the front desk they wouldn’t answer. We came back late one evening and asked to buy some soda and water from the front desk and were told they couldn’t sell to us because they were locked up. When I asked for a manager to contact me I received no response. So hopefully this review will get help future guests make an informed decision.

My wife and I stayed here for one night, and had a terrible experience. Here are the reasons why:
-The noise level is atrocious, you can hear everything from any room near you, and the street sounds like it’s in your room, even 6 stories up.
-The shower looked really nice at first, but after getting in for ten minutes and having 4 inches of standing water, I realized the grate along the bottom was caked in mold and hair, and that was why nothing could drain.
-Parking is $30 a night, and no one tells you that beforehand, so if you think you are getting a steal, make sure to add that cost on, because you won’t know until you’re there.
-After expressing these concerns to the front desk, I was met with annoyance and absolutely no apology.
There are tons of hotels in Denver. Do yourself a favor, and stay somewhere else.

This was an OK hotel, but I feel like I wanted to like this place more or for it to better. I wanted it to be a little more than underwhelming. I will say the Lobby is perfect and probably the best part.
The Hotel was crazy busy through our entire stay. I loved the lobby and the common areas. Checking in took forever. Our room was ok but the hotel looks like it could use a refresh. We did go exploring every floor. Some were much cooler and better looking than ours and some were not.
The staff was great and the price was good. Hotel was pretty clean and rooms were pretty standard. I would stay here again if the price was right but it was not nearly as cool throughout as I thought it looked on the “brochure”.

Great downtown location, fun themed hotel. Not as kid oriented as it may seem, also building shows it’s age. Room could have been cleaner. Understand there are probably staffing issues in this area. AC was really loud even for a hotel room. Attached cafe had a fantastic breakfast. Overall it was fine with a major plus being the cafe breakfast and friendly staff.

Very expensive. No amenities, no pool, no fitness room, no business center, no morning coffee, no water even. I called the hotel directly because I usually find that it is the most reasonable nightly rate, but was disappointed to find out that Priceline and others had it for much cheaper. Not wanting to book through those other third parties, I booked through the hotel and paid more. On-site parking is $44 a night but is very limited. I was disappointed because I am handicapped and called in advance to make sure there was on site parking. When I got there they informed me I had to park in a parking lot a half a block away from the hotel because the small parking lot was full. However they would give it to me for $22 a day instead. When we left the parking ramp though, the charge was only $12, so the hotel actually kept an additional $10 on us parking in a different parking ramp a half a block away. The room was clean enough except the bathroom floor could really be scrubbed. We enjoyed the view out the fourth story window, because there is an alley and we could watch the homeless. We also got to watch the small hotel parking lot including four privileged golfers empty garbage contents of their truck out onto the hotel parking lot, but got to yell from our window “litterers” to which they all quickly got into the truck and speed away. Really for a downtown hotel I would expect more amenities or at least some free water or coffee in the morning. Hotel staff was not accommodating or too caring about a handicapped person having to park a half a block away when they had called in advance to make sure that there was on site handicap parking.

From start to finish our stay at the Kimpton Hotel Monaco was fantastic! From checking us in early, to helping us to upgrade our room experience, to special perks and surprises; Kimpton staff exceeded our expectations around every turn. The hotel was sparkling and freshly renovated with fine finishings and attention to detail. There was a wine reception every day in the lobby with a different staff member to warmly greet you. We received help with drug store items and shipping home our purchases from the city. When they found out it was my birthday, they sent special surprises to our room while we were gone. The staff were like friends by the end of our week long stay in Denver, and our visit to the city was made exceptional by their fine care and above and beyond service! Thank you P and Z!!!

We only stayed one night in this hotel as we flew back from Anchorage, Ak and we definitely love this place. It made our Denver stay even better. Room was super clean, bed was extremely comfortable. We had a full size refrigerator, microwave, dishwasher, stove and everything you need for a functional kitchen. I just wish that we could have stay longer, but definitely it is a place I would book again if I get to be in the area. Highly recommended.

We booked an Executive larger suite 2 weeks in advance, when checking in they told us our room wasn’t available and that we could get switched to ours the next day, we were okay with it but disappointed cause the front desk lady even admired that they gave us the worst room possible. Come the next day we go to switch our rooms and then they said they were all out of rooms for the rest of our stay. We asked for a price change since we had to stay in a room half our price they told us they would fix it and give us and call and they REFUSED TO FIX IT AT THE END THEY SCAMMED US $300

David Mcintyre was a godsend. I made my original reservation through booking.com, and I had to modify it. David walked me through the steps I needed to make this happen, then he secured an extra room and help me modify the other reservation that I had. It wasn’t easy. He was moving guests who hadn’t checked in yet, checking with housekeeping, and many other tasks to make this happen. Most hotels would not even make any part of this effort. This is one of the reasons we love Four Seasons. They take care of their customers and do what they can to make the experience great. They certainly did that here. Would definitely come again

We have had an outstanding experience— from the folks at valet & Elizabeth at the front desk, to Paul & Kevin at the pool, along with the EDGE staff like Johnny at the bar that made me feel welcome to Vanessa who brought us to our table & Michael our glorious server. I haven’t been this “wowed” in ages. Every staff member we came in contact with was so pleasant. Can’t wait to come back!

I love the four seasons chain. The downtown Toronto hotel is one of the best in the world. The Denver location from my experience is average at best. The noise level room to room is significant. I could hear the guests on one side of my suite very clearly. Not what I expected.
Also…I did enjoy a cigar on the outdoor patio. A very nice cigar selection- thank you. Unfortunately the service level was very slow and underwhelming. Maybe it was because it was a Sunday night but for a four seasons hotel….no excuse.

The rooms are comfortable, spacious, and clean. Great amenities, including sanitizing wipes.
The pool deck is also spacious so many people can enjoy without feeling crowded. There is a great workout center if you choose to use it, with a bottle filling station. The restrooms by both (pool and workout center) also have lockers and a shower.
We were able to check-in early and parked in the lot across the street. Easy access to everything you want to visit in downtown Denver.
Wonderful service if you need anything from the desk staff. Our concern (left something in the room) was handled quickly by Christian (I believe was their name) and this will now be our go-to downtown Denver hotel.

location is great. housekeeping is non existent. we arrived on a Friday. on Friday there was a dirty cup outside a door with brown liquid. we left on the following Monday. cup was STILL there only now it had molded over. garbage was not emptied for four days. instead I got a garbage bag from the lobby and emptied it. we did not receive fresh towels only the ones provided at the pool. my main reason for this review is the doors are SCARY. ours slammed shut SO FAST it would have easily chopped off fingers. I was so nervous about my kids getting caught in that door. it was REALLY bad. I warned a mom with a toddler to watch the doors because they are dangerous. I do not know if all doors slammed like mine did but from the sounds in the hall, they all do to one extreme or another. my family members had a different room and their door didn’t even shut all the way. I expected a little more from a 4 star hotel. it wasn’t all bad, but some definite concerns and definitely potential injuries and liability. watch your fingers with those doors!!

Poor customer service for a upper end hotel. March of 2020 I had tickets to an event on a Saturday. I booked a room on Tuesday to avoid driving 100 miles home after the event.
The event was cancelled on Thursday due to covid. When I called that afternoon to cancel the room they refused to refund my $218.77 because I did not cancel with 72 hours notice.
I have spoken to 2 managers who state that they are not contractually obligated to issue a refund.
what ever happened to doing the right thing?
I spent my hard earned money for a service I did not receive.
They expect me to drive 200 miles round trip for a cancelled event just so I have the privilege of using a room that I no longer have a use for.
I was a repeat patron.
I feel contractually obligated to let whoever reads this what they can expect if they ever have reservations here.

Have been staying in this hotel for a week. And when I checked out forget my cosmetics palette (almost new but still used), hair straightener (good brand) and few things in bathroom like floss, cotton pads for makeup removal. I called them next morning, they ignored me whole day because “we are trying to find the cleaning lady who clean your room to ask her where did she put your items”. Finally in the evening they call me and – no, she said it wasn’t anything in your room.
Seriously?!..

I stayed here for two nights on a weekend to go see Post Malone at Ball Arena with my daughter. Treated her to VIP tickets for her birthday. They upgraded my room to this cool corner room. I loved all the windows and how much light it let in. It was beautiful when I arrived and it was snowing when I left. That’s Colorado for you. I had a delayed flight to get back to Las Vegas because of the snow. 🙁 The stay was great, I asked the front desk clerk to let a friend in while I was gone and they did – checked their ID and let them have a key. Breakfast was fine, just what you expect at a SpringHill Suites and I liked those little scones and the croissants. Great place to stay to have walking access to Ball Arena and not far to venture up into downtown Denver either.

(For what was called the Cruise Room) First experience was amazing! Great atmosphere and great drinks.
Second experience was, well there wasn’t one because the invisibility cloaks that my out of town guests and me were wearing were working flawlessly. Staff would not acknowledge our presence.

Great old historic hotel in Lodo within striking distance of shops, restaurants, sports venues, etc. And the Cruise Room Bar. Very romantic spot for a little getaway. Rooms are very well done with period pieces and modern upgrades to bathrooms. Coffee and juice in morning, bourbon and whiskey tasting at dusk included. Great place for a get away.

Great place for a couple getaway.
You have a spa for the ladies, and Bourbon tasting every afternoon for the guys. The rooms feel stately. The tv is small and off to the side, and that’s a good thing. Bed is fantastic, though a little noise at night from the local restaurants/bars. 5 piece bathroom won’t disappoint nor the claw bathtub.
